How to use a flea bomb

Disclaimer: These instructions are not meant to replace the instructions of any flea bomb you may decide to buy. They are simply here to give you an idea of how flea bombs are meant to work. It is your responsibility to read the flea bomb’s instructions carefully and apply them at your own risk, we cannot be held liable for any problems you may encounter following these instructions.
- Buy a well known brand of flea bomb and make sure it is not past its due date.
- Make sure the bomb is suitable for the area you are planning to treat (home, industrial etc).
- It is important for fleas to stop reproducing so make sure you select a bomb that prevents fleas from reaching reproductive age. Most quality bombs will do this but make sure you check!
- Most flea bombs will have a finite coverage so you need to make sure you buy enough of them to cover your property.
- Make sure you ensure that the flea bomb cannot get into cabinets, dishes, cutlery etc. You can always carefully tape the cabinets and take the kitchen stuff out of reach.
- Carpeted areas must be reachable by the bomb. Where possible remove items (like sofas) that may cover it so that they can be treated.
- Remove humans and pets from the area during treatment.
- Flea bomb must be placed in the middle of the area (typically). Make sure you follow the instructions on the packaging carefully. If not sure call the manufacturer for help. When you set the bomb off make sure you leave the area immediately.
- Do not return in the until it is safe to do so. The instructions will clearly state the time needed to lapse before you return.
- Open all windows in the treated area and leave them open for an hour (read the instructions as longer may be required) and leave the treated area during this stage.
- When you return dispose bomb and any material used in the treatment (newspapers covering items etc)
- Wash carefully linen, kitchen items, surfaces and anything else you may come in contact with that has been treated. Vacuum carpets and wash wooden/laminate floors. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions to make safe the surfaces.
